A charity rugby match, in memory of a former University of Greenwich student who died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, takes place on Friday (November 20).

The Thomas Mulquin Memorial Cup Match is held every year in remembrance of Thomas, who died in 2002, aged 20, during his first training session with the university's rugby team.

Entry to the match is free, with all money raised from food, drinks, a raffle and auction going towards Wooden Spoon, a rugby charity that supports disadvantaged and disabled children.

The match, which takes place at Sidcup rugby club, sees the university's All Stars XV take on the Wooden Spoon XV. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

The University of Greenwich Rugby Club and the Students' Union arrange the annual game and have raised thousands for charities such as the Wooden Spoon Society.
